Interested in Becoming An RN Patient Advocate?

Through the Human Health Project, RN Patient Advocates is presenting the first training seminar to certify independent RN Patient Advocates in September 2008.  Enrollment is limited to 36 RNs for this course.  Participants will become the founding members of the National Network of independent RN Patient Advocates (RNPA's Trademark pending) with full access to a support/information network and a voice in the further development of this crucial new role.

During this intensive, week-long seminar the RN will:

  • Learn the proven process of independent patient advocacy within the larger framework of the medical system

  • Receive hands-on training with actual case studies - learn to create an advocacy plan, track progress and do research into the wide array of treatment modalities

  • Learn effective skills to maximize your independent role within the medical system

  • Learn how to start your own professional practice/business from a practical standpoint

  • Learn financial management of your professional practice

  • Learn the shortcuts and how to mine the internet quickly for the quality medical research information you need to help you educate your patients, especially re: all treatment options for their illness

  • Receive marketing support to develop your professional practice

  • Receive referrals from a nationally marketed website

  • Receive CEU's

The Prerequisites for training include:

  • An active RN license from any state with at least 10-15 years of varied and consistent clinical experience as well as a broad clinical knowledge base

  • An interest and beginning knowledge (or more) of Integrative Medicine principles and modalities

  • An ability to function both independently and assertively

  • An enjoyment of and ease with internet research

  • A well-developed ability to teach

  • Excellent communication skills and a creative mind, a life learner

  • Most of all, the willingness to be a Pioneer in this new role for experienced clinical RNs.
